STEP 1: Arrival certificate

To begin your Erasmus exchange, please schedule an appointment with the International Mobility Office for registration. This step is crucial for receiving your Arrival Certificate, which officially marks the start of your mobility.

Arrival Date:

  • If you arrive before the Welcome Day, we will consider the Welcome Day as your official arrival date and start of mobility.
  • If you arrive after the Welcome Day, the appointment date will be considered your arrival date and the official start of your mobility.

Make sure to select your appointment date accordingly.

How to Book Your Appointment:
To book your appointment, email anna.desantis@unimc.it at your earliest convenience.

Where to Go:
The appointment will take place at the International Mobility Office, located at Via della Pescheria Vecchia n. 8 – 62100 Macerata near Piazza della Libertà.

Documents You’ll Need:
Before your appointment, please ensure you’ve completed the Arrival Form and have the following documents ready:

  • Tax identification number (Codice Fiscale)
  • Proof of enrollment at your Home University
  • ID or passport with entry stamp to Italy (if any)
  • Learning Agreement (LA) managed in EWP. Identify the Erasmus+ Coordinator responsible for approving and signing your LA in Macerata.

Extra-European Students:
If you are an extra-European student, you will receive additional instructions via email regarding immigration procedures.

STEP 2: Welcome Days

The Welcome Days are addressed to all incoming students taking part in a mobility programme (Erasmus+ for Studies, Bilateral Agreements, Double & Joint Degrees).
Students are introduced to the University and the city of Macerata and provided with all the information needed to ensure a great and fruitful stay at UniMC.

The Welcome Days take place at the beginning of each semester. Stay tuned!

The slides from the Welcome Day presentation are available here (from January 2025)

STEP 3: Start of activities

Class Start Dates & Enrollment Information:
Please note that classes may begin earlier or later than the official start dates listed in the Academic Calendar. To find the exact start date for each course, check the class timetable available on the course teacher webpage, which should be published between 4 and 2 weeks before the start of classes.

Course Enrollment:
You don’t need to enroll in your courses right away. Simply list them in your Learning Agreement (LA). Be sure to sign up for each course in the University system before the exam session (see During your stay).

You will receive further instructions during the Welcome Days and via email.

STEP 4: Non-EU citizens

All non-EU citizens will be supported by the International Mobility Office and provided with detailed instructions (if needed) on how to submit the residence permit application or the Dichiarazione di presenza (declaration of presence).

Required documents:

  • Passport
  • Residence permit issued by an EU country (if applicable)
  • 1 revenue stamp (marca da bollo) (€16.00)
  • 4 passport-sized photos (only 2 for the Dichiarazione di presenza)
  • Tenancy agreement or comunicazione di ospitalità (either a university housing contract or private accommodation agreement)
  • European Health Insurance Card or health insurance policy/certificate (see step 5 for details)
  • Italian tax identification number (Codice Fiscale)

Please keep these documents ready and follow the instructions that will be provided by the International Mobility Office.
