STEP 1: Arrival certificate

To begin your mobility period at the University of Macerata, all incoming students are required to complete the Arrival Form and provide the necessary documentation to register with the International Mobility Office.

📂 Documents You’ll Need:

  • 🧾 Codice Fiscale (Italian tax identification number)
  • 🎓 Proof of enrollment at your Home University (e.g., Erasmus certificate or nomination letter)
  • 🪪 ID or passport (with entry stamp to Italy, if applicable)

➜ Be sure to identify the Erasmus+ Departmental Coordinator in Macerata responsible for signing your LA.

This process is essential for receiving your Certificate of Arrival, which officially marks the start of your Erasmus or exchange mobility.

In order to issue your Certificate of Arrival, we must receive:

  • The Arrival Form (filled out online)
  • A valid proof of arrival in Macerata (e.g., travel ticket, itinerary, or similar document)

IMPORTANT: The first possible certifiable arrival date is 15 September 2025.

STEP 2: Welcome Days

The Welcome Day is addressed to all incoming students taking part in a mobility programme at the University of Macerata (Erasmus+ for Studies, Bilateral Agreements, Double & Joint Degrees).

🧭 The Welcome Day is held at the beginning of each semester.

📅 This year's Welcome Day will take place on 30 September 2025.
During the event, students will be officially welcomed by the University and the city of Macerata, and provided with all the practical and academic information needed to ensure a smooth and enriching experience at UniMC.

See here the poster of the event.

📜 The Certificate of Attendance will be issued on this occasion.
Participation is therefore strongly recommended.

📂 The slides from the Welcome Day presentation will be available here after the event (from October 2025).

STEP 3: Start of activities

Class Start Dates & Enrollment Information:
Please note that classes may begin later than the official start dates listed in the Academic Calendar. To find the exact start date for each course, check the class timetable available on the course teacher webpage, which should be published between 4 and 2 weeks before the start of classes.

Course Enrollment:
You don’t need to enroll in your courses right away. Simply list them in your Learning Agreement (LA). Be sure to sign up for each course in the University system before the exam session (see During your stay).

You will receive further instructions during the Welcome Days and via email.

STEP 4: Non-EU citizens

All non-EU citizens will be supported by the International Mobility Office and provided with detailed instructions (if needed) on how to submit the residence permit application or the Dichiarazione di presenza (declaration of presence).
