Incoming Exchange Students: Application/Nomination process for Studies

Who can come on an exchange to the University of Macerata (uniMC)?

For you to come to the University of Macerata on an exchange program, your home university must have signed an exchange agreement with the University of Macerata. Contact the Coordinator at your home university to find out if such an agreement exists and if you can be nominated as an exchange student (Erasmus+ and bilateral agreement).

Didactics

The University of Macerata predominantly uses Italian as the main language of instruction, but the Univesity Departments offer courses or sections in other languages, especially English. All courses are available to both international students and undergraduates at the university.

Nomination

The coordinator at your home university must first nominate you for exchange studies at the University of Macerata. Recommended nomination periods:

  • March 15th – June 1st
  • September 1st November 15th


Erasmus+ exchange student: the nomination should be made through the online nomination form e-mailed to the Erasmus+ Partner Institutions.

Bilateral Agreement exchange student: the nomination should be emailed to anna.desantis@unimc.it.

Admission (Application Form)

You are also requested to upload the nomination letter in your application form. Recommended application periods:

  • First (Fall) semester / Full academic year application form: April 15th - June 15th
  • Second (Spring) semester application form: September 1st - October 30th

Language Requirements

Minimum level of Italian CEFR A1. Erasmus exchange students need to take an entry test to determine their language skills. The entry test is also recommended for students under bilateral agreements.
Minimum level of English CEFR B1. Erasmus exchange students must provide proof of their English language abilities to access the university's English language courses.

Student Housing (Accommodation)

Please be sure to mark the box for "University Residence" on the application form if you are interested in obtaining a spot in the university residence. Space is limited, so don't delay in submitting your application form.
