DOCUMENTI NECESSARI PER IL RICONOSCIMENTO DELL’ATTIVITA’ DIDATTICA SVOLTA ALL’ESTERO

Come previsto dal Regolamento per il riconoscimento accademico delle attività svolte dagli studenti in mobilità internazionale (Emanato con d.r. n. 362 del 30 ottobre 2020) e dalle LINEE GUIDA Per il riconoscimento accademico delle attività svolte dagli studenti in mobilità internazionale, il riconoscimento finale dell’attività didattica svolta all’estero può essere effettuato SOLO in presenza dei seguenti documenti (prima del ritorno, lo studente deve controllare di avere tutto sotto controllo):

1. Modulo per il Riconoscimento degli esami (reperibile al seguente link) da compilare a cura dello studente. Comprende l’elenco dei corsi frequentati e superati all’estero, con i rispettivi crediti e l’elenco dei corsi italiani equivalenti con i rispettivi crediti. Questo documento rappresenta la sintesi dell'attività formativa svolta all’estero e deve essere redatto solo quando si hanno le risposte di tutti i riconoscimenti preventivi con i relativi crediti o comunque quando si è sicuri di ciò che si è fatto e superato, in quanto da questo documento deve risultare il lavoro effettivamente svolto dallo studente in Erasmus+ Studio. Deve contenere obbligatoriamente 2 firme (dello studente e del Coordinatore Erasmus di Dipartimento) e pervenire all’Ufficio Mobilità Internazionale;

2. Il Transcript of Records, ovvero il certificato con i risultati degli esami sostenuti e dei crediti conseguiti elaborato a cura dell’Università partner.

Quando si è in possessi di entrambi i documenti è necessario prendere un appuntamento con Paola Landi (paola.landi@unimc.it, tel +3907332586044) per formalizzare il riconoscimento.

COME VIENE DEFINITO IL VOTO DELL'ESAME

1) Il sistema ECTS e la distribuzione statistica dei voti

Il Sistema europeo per l’accumulazione ed il trasferimento dei crediti (ECTS) è uno strumento che rende più trasparenti gli studi ed i percorsi formativi, contribuendo a migliorare la qualità dell’istruzione superiore. Consente agli studenti in mobilità di trasferire i crediti acquisiti all’estero e di utilizzarli al loro rientro, sulla base del carico di lavoro e dei risultati di apprendimento, per il conseguimento del titolo di studio presso l’istituzione di appartenenza. L’ECTS pone lo studente al centro del processo formativo e facilita la creazione e la descrizione di percorsi di apprendimento flessibili, conferendo agli studenti maggiore autonomia e responsabilità.

L’Università di Macerata ha adottato il sistema ECTS come sistema di accumulo crediti: 1 Credito italiano (CFU, credito formativo universitario) corrisponde a 25 ore di lavoro dello studente ed equivale ad 1 ECTS. I crediti ECTS rappresentano il carico di lavoro e i risultati di apprendimento definiti (“ciò che la persona conosce, comprende ed è in grado di fare”) di un determinato corso o programma. Un anno di studio corrisponde a 60 crediti formativi.

Un tipico titolo di “primo ciclo” (o laurea) è composto da 180 crediti all’anno, mentre un tipico titolo di “secondo ciclo” (master) è composto da 120 crediti all’anno.

2) Tabelle di distribuzione dei voti

A causa delle diverse tradizioni culturali ed accademiche, i sistemi di istruzione superiore europei hanno sviluppato differenti sistemi nazionali di votazione, e li hanno anche usati in maniera diversa anche nell’ambito dello stesso paese.

Poiché gli studenti in mobilità hanno diritto ad un trattamento equo ed alla trasparenza dei loro voti, quando i crediti sono trasferiti da una istituzione all’altra, per garantire che le informazioni sul profitto di un dato studente siano coerenti ed eque, nel 2015 è stata elaborata dall’Unione Europea la Guida ECTS per l’utente.

Nel rispetto delle regole previste dalla Guida, l’Università di Macerata fornisce la tabella relativa alla distribuzione statistica dei voti positivi attribuiti nei vari corsi di studio frequentati dallo studente, che mostra in che modo la scala dei voti disponibile venga concretamente utilizzata nei vari corsi di studio.

A partire dell’a.a. 2021/2022 l’Università di Macerata, in seguito all’approvazione del Regolamento per il riconoscimento accademico delle attività svolte dagli studenti in mobilità internazionale (adottato con d.r. n. 362 del 30 ottobre 2020), applica il modello di conversione basato sulle tabella relativa alla distribuzione statistica dei voti (Tabella A) elaborata per ciascun corso di laurea con i dati degli esami superati nei tre anni accademici precedenti. Nello specifico, la tabella riporta il numero di esami, la percentuale di conseguimento di ciascun voto positivo da parte degli studenti e la percentuale cumulata (quella da utilizzare per la conversione dei voti). E' possibile consultare la Tabella A relativa agli studenti iin mobilità nell'a.a. 2022/2023.  E' possibile consultare la Tabella A relativa agli studenti in mobilità nell'a.a. 2023/2024 .

E’ inoltre disponibile un’altra tabella relativa alla distribuzione statistica dei voti distinti nelle fasce A, B, C, D, E (Tabella B) elaborata per ciascun corso di laurea da utilizzare per le istituzioni che forniscono, all’interno del Transcript of Records, la loro tabella relativa alla distribuzione statistica dei voti distinti nelle fasce A, B, C, D, E ma che non stanno ancora adottando il nuovo sistema di conversione e che quindi non sono in grado di fornire all’Università di Macerata la loro tabella relativa alla distribuzione statistica dei voti. E’ possibile consultare la Tabella B relativa agli stufenti in mobilità nell'a.a. 2022/2023.  E' possibile consultare la Tabella B relativa agli studenti in mobilità nell'a.a. 2023/2024

Nel caso in cui l’Università partner non fornisca alcuna informazione né in merito distribuzione statistica dei voti né in merito alla distribuzione statistica dei voti distinti nelle fasce A, B, C, D, E, verrà utilizzata la tabella di conversione dei voti approvata (Tabella C) dal Senato Accademico il 22/09/1998. E’ possibile consultare la Tabella C.

A seconda delle informazioni fornite dalle sedi partner all’interno del Transcript of Records si potranno verificare i seguenti casi:

Caso 1

Transcript of Records contenente l’indicazione dei voti del Paese di origine e la relativa distribuzione statistica degli stessi presso l’Ateneo partner: la conversione dei voti avverrà utilizzando la Tabella A (che contiene la distribuzione statistica per ciascun corso di studi, come nell’esempio riportato di seguito).

In caso di percentuali sovrapposte, l’Università di Macerata attribuisce il voto massimo applicabile come da indicazioni dell’ECTS Guida per l’Utente emanata dalla Commissione Europea.

In base all’art. 6 del Regolamento per il riconoscimento crediti UNIMC non è possibile rifiutare il riconoscimento delle attività didattiche svolte all’estero e/o la conversione dei voti applicata. Potete consultare il Regolamento.

Di seguito viene fornito qualche esempio di conversione.

La nuova Tabella ECTS per la conversione dei voti consente un confronto più immediato di due o più sistemi e culture della votazione, come può essere chiarito da un esempio:

* Basato sul numero totale di voti attribuiti durante il triennio precedente nel corso di laurea in esame.

Nell’esempio si vede come un 30 attribuito nella scala di A dovrebbe essere convertito in un 1 nella scala di B. Il voto 2 di B verrà tradotto nei voti 26-29 (media: 27) del Paese o sistema A. Per riassumere, la Tabella dei voti ECTS consente un’interpretazione e conversione dei voti semplice e trasparente da un sistema o contesto a un altro e pertanto rende giustizia al livello di risultati accademici di tutti gli studenti. Se correttamente utilizzata, la Tabella crea uno snodo tra sistemi di votazione e culture differenti nell’ambito dello Spazio Europeo dell’Istruzione Superiore e anche oltre i suoi confini.

Caso 2

Transcript of Records contenente l’indicazione dei voti sulla base del sistema ECTS, con la lettera A, B, C, D, E: la conversione dei voti avverrà utilizzando la Tabella B (che contiene i voti ECTS tradotti in trentesimi per ciascun corso di laurea). Esempio: la valutazione ECTS C per un esame superato all’estero da uno studente appartenente ad un corso laurea triennale del Dipartimento di Studi Umanistici verrà tradotto con il voto di 27 (media tra 26 e 28). La stessa valutazione C per un esame superato all’estero da uno studente appartenente ad un corso laurea magistrale del Dipartimento di Economia verrà tradotto con il voto di 28 (media tra 27 e 29).

Caso 3

Transcript of Tecords contenente l’indicazione dei voti del Paese di origine senza la distribuzione statistica degli stessi presso l’Ateneo partner: la conversione dei voti avverrà utilizzando la vecchia tabella di conversione per singolo Paese, senza distinzione di corso di laurea (Tabella C). Ad esempio se un esame viene superato in Germania con la votazione 1 verrà convertito in Italia con il voto 30/30 e lode, per tutti i corsi di studi.

N.B: Vi informiamo che gli esami Erasmus vengono registrati nel libretto on line da parte della segreteria studenti con la data in cui viene effettuata la trascrizione del riconoscimento presso l’Ufficio Mobilità Internazionale ovvero al termine di tutto il percorso Erasmus+ Studio. Per questa ragione, se usufruite di ulteriori borse di studio oltre a quella Erasmus (es: Erdis, Università di Macerata, ecc.), siete pregati di informarvi in tempo utile sulle eventuali date entro cui gli esami devono essere registrati e regolarvi di conseguenza.

3) Riconoscimento dell’attività di ricerca e preparazione della tesi all’estero

Come previsto dall'art. 9 del Regolamento per il riconoscimento accademico delle attività svolte dagli studenti in mobilità internazionale, prima della partenza lo studente deve produrre un progetto di ricerca contenente una proposta di CFU per ricerca tesi all’estero che deve essere approvata dal relatore di tesi e successivamente ottenere il parere favorevole del Consiglio di Corso di Studio.
Al termine del periodo svolto all’estero il relatore dovrà accertare la conformità dell’attività di ricerca svolta all’estero al progetto di ricerca approvato. Eventuali scostamenti dovranno essere sottoposti al Consiglio di Corso di Studio.
L’attività di ricerca e preparazione della tesi svolta all’estero consente di conseguire una porzione di crediti compresa tra il 50% e l’80% di quelli previsti per la prova finale da registrare nella carriera dello studente come CFU esteri per ricerca tesi.

REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR THE RECOGNITION OF TEACHING ACTIVITY CARRIED OUT ABROAD

As stated in the ‘Regulation for the Academic Recognition of Student Work during the period of International Mobility’ Regolamento per il riconoscimento accademico delle attività svolte dagli studenti in mobilità internazionale (Issued by d.r. No. 362 of October 30, 2020) and in the 'GUIDELINES for the recognition of activities carried out during international mobilities LINEE GUIDA Per il riconoscimento accademico delle attività svolte dagli studenti in mobilità internazionale, the final recognition of student activity carried out abroad can be issued ONLY when the student is in possession of the following documents (before returning, the student should check that he/she has everything under control):

1. Examination Recognition Form (available at the following link) to be filled out by the student. It includes the list of courses taken and passed abroad, with their respective credits, and the list of equivalent Italian courses with their respective credits. This document represents the summary of the educational activity carried out abroad. It should be drawn up only when the student has the necessary documentation. It must contain 2 signatures (of the student and the Department Erasmus Coordinator) and be received by the International Mobility Office;

2. The Transcript of Records, which consists of the certificate with the results of exams taken and credits earned prepared by the partner university.

When in possession of both documents, it is necessary to make an appointment with Paola Landi (paola.landi@unimc.it, tel +3907332586044) to formalize the recognition.

HOW THE EXAM GRADE IS DEFINED

1) The ECTS system and the statistical distribution of grades.

The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) is a tool that makes studies and educational pathways more transparent, helping to improve the quality of higher education. It enables exchange students to transfer credits acquired abroad and use them upon their return, based on workload and learning outcomes, for the degree at their home institution. ECTS places the student at the centre of the educational process and facilitates the creation and description of flexible learning paths, giving students greater autonomy and responsibility.

The University of Macerata has adopted the ECTS system as its credit accumulation system: 1 Italian Credit (CFU, college credit) corresponds to 25 hours of student work and is equivalent to 1 ECTS. ECTS credits represent the workload and defined learning outcomes ("what the person knows, understands and is able to do") of a given course or program. One year of study corresponds to 60 learning credits.

A typical "first cycle" (or bachelor's) degree consists of 180 credits per year, while a typical "second cycle" (master's) degree consists of 120 credits per year.

2) Grade distribution tables.

Due to different cultural and academic traditions, European higher education systems have developed different national grade systems, and have also used them differently even within the same country.

Since exchange, students are entitled to fair treatment and transparency of their grades when credits are transferred from one institution to another, in order to ensure that information about a given student's performance is consistent and fair, the ECTS User's Guide was developed by the European Union in 2015.

In compliance with the rules laid down in the Guide, the University of Macerata provides the table on the statistical distribution of positive grades awarded in the various courses of study attended by the student, which shows how the available grade scale is used in the various courses of study.

Starting from A.Y. 2021/2022, the University of Macerata, following the approval of ‘Regulation for the Academic Recognition of Student Work during the period of International Mobility’ (Regolamento per il riconoscimento accademico delle attività svolte dagli studenti in mobilità internazionale)  (adopted by d.r. no. 362 of Oct. 30, 2020), applies the conversion model based on the table related to the statistical distribution of grades (Table A) elaborated for each degree program with the data of the exams passed in the previous three academic years. Specifically, the table shows the number of exams, the percentage of each passing grade achieved by students and the cumulative percentage (the one to be used for grade conversion). It is possible to consult Table A referring to students mobilities a.y. 2021/2022. It is possible to consult Table A referring to students mobilities a.y. 2022/2023.

Another table relating to the statistical distribution of grades separated into bands A, B, C, D, E (Table B) is also available. It is prepared for each degree program to be used for institutions that provide, within the Transcript of Records, their table relating to the statistical distribution of grades separated into bands A, B, C, D, E.  Table B is for institutions that still have not adopted the new conversion system and are therefore unable to provide the University of Macerata with their table relating to the statistical distribution of grades. It is possible to consult Table B referring to students mobilities a.y. 2021/2022. It is possible to consult Table B referring to students mobilities a.y. 2022/2023.

In the event that the partner university does not provide any information either on statistical distribution of grades or on statistical distribution of grades distinguished in bands A, B, C, D, E, the grade approved conversion table (Table C) by the Academic Senate on 09/22/1998 will be used. It is possible to consult Table C.

Depending on the information provided by the partner sites within the Transcript of Records, the following cases may occur:

Case 1

Transcript of Records containing the indication of grades from the country of origin and their statistical distribution at the partner university: the conversion of grades will take place using Table A (which contains the statistical distribution for each course of study, as in the example below).

In case of overlapping percentages, the University of Macerata will award the maximum applicable grade as per the ECTS User Guide issued by the European Commission.

According to Article 6 of the UNIMC Credit Recognition Regulations, it is not possible to refuse recognition of teaching activities carried out abroad and/or conversion of applied grades.

A few examples of conversion are provided below.

The new ECTS Table for Grade Conversion allows for a more  immediate comparison of two or more grade systems and cultures, as can be clarified by an example:

*Based on the total number of grades awarded during the previous three years in the degree program under consideration.

The example shows how a 30 awarded in the A scale should be converted to a 1 in the B scale. The grade 2 in B will be translated into the grades 26-29 (average: 27) in Country or System A. To summarize, the ECTS Grade Table allows for simple and transparent interpretation and conversion of grades from one system or context to another and therefore does justice to the level of academic achievement of all students. When properly used, the Table creates a junction between different grade systems and cultures within the European Higher Education Area and even beyond its borders.

More examples of conversion can be found in the ECTS guide on pages 80 and 81.

Case 2

Transcript of Records containing an indication of grades based on the ECTS system, labeled A, B, C, D, E: conversion of grades will be carried out using Table B (which contains ECTS grades translated into thirtieths for each degree program). Example: the ECTS grade C for an exam passed abroad by a student belonging to a bachelor's degree program in the Department of Humanities will be translated as a grade of 27 (average between 26 and 28). The same C grade for an exam passed abroad by a student belonging to a bachelor's degree course in the Department of Economics will be translated as a grade of 28 (average between 27 and 29).

Case 3

Transcript of Records containing the indication of grades from the home country without the statistical distribution being supplied at the partner university: the conversion of grades will be carried out using the old conversion table by individual country according to each individual country, without distinction of degree program (Table C). For example, if an exam is passed in Germany with the grade 1 it will be converted in Italy with the grade 30/30 cum laude, for all degree courses.

N.B: Please note that Erasmus exams are recorded in the online booklet by the student secretariat with the date on which the transcript of recognition is made at the International Mobility Office. This must be done at the end of the entire Erasmus+ Study course. For this reason, if you benefit from additional scholarships in addition to the Erasmus scholarship (e.g., Erdis, University of Macerata, etc.), please enquire in good time about any dates by which exams must be registered and adjust accordingly.

3) Recognition of research activity and thesis preparation abroad.

As stipulated in Article 9 of the Regulations for the Academic Recognition of Activities Performed by Students on International Mobility, prior to departure, the student must produce a research project containing a proposal for CFUs for thesis research abroad, which must be approved by the thesis advisor and subsequently obtain the favourable opinion of the Course of Study Council.

At the end of the period abroad, the thesis advisor must ascertain that the research activity carried out abroad conforms to the approved research project. Any deviations must be submitted to the Course of Study Council.

The research and thesis preparation activity carried out abroad allows for a portion of credits between 50 percent and 80 percent of those required for the final examination to be recorded in the student's career as foreign CFU for thesis research.
