Before Arrival

If you have just been selected by your home university to study in Macerata as an Erasmus Student, please follow the instructions below to enroll at our University.

The following procedure is for prospective incoming students coming within the Erasmus+ Study Program (Erasmus Mobility for Studies).

If you wish to come to Macerata for an internship, you should refer to the Erasmus+ for Traineeships Program (Erasmus Mobility for Traineeship, Erasmus para prácticas, Praktikum, etc.). In this case, please contact:
1) your home University, to check where they have specific agreements for placements/internships abroad (schools, public offices, companies, etc…)

2) the University of Macerata ( if you wish to do a work experience in our International Mobility Office.


How to enrol as an Incoming Student coming within the Erasmus+ Study Program:



If you wish to study in Macerata as an Incoming Erasmus+ student (Erasmus Mobility for Studies), your home University will have to nominate you as an Erasmus+ incoming student by sending a nomination e-mail to this address: The e-mail must include the student’s first and family name, e-mail, area of studies and the semester duration of Erasmus+ scholarship. The International Mobility Office of Macerata will then send its reply decision within 4 weeks after receiving the nomination. Accepted students will receive a welcome e-mail and useful information for their future stay at the University of Macerata. After receiving this e-mail, students may then be able to apply and proceed to STEP 2.



To enrol as an Erasmus student at UNIMC for the second (spring) semester of a.y. 2022-2023, the Application Form for Incoming Erasmus students will be available here from 12 September to 30 October 2022


Before you start the registration, please check with your Erasmus/International Office:

- the Erasmus ID of your home university (i.e. E SEVILLA 01)
- the Area or ISCED code of our bilateral agreement (i.e. Languages and Philological Sciences,code 222 / Languages, code 023)

Please also make sure you fill in all the mandatory sections, and attach all required documents (indicated by a red square) before you click on “Conferma” (confirm).

You will be asked to attach the following mandatory documents:

  • a passport photo (.jpg format);
  • a scanned copy of your ID or passport;
  • a scanned copy or your European Health Insurance Card (for European students);
  • a scanned copy of your private health insurance (for non-European students). You should demonstrate that you are fully covered by a health insurance policy against illness and accidents which may occur during your stay in Italy.


Students who want to attend courses held in English are also required to attach

  • an official certificate of knowledge of the English language (B1 or higher).




  • 15 June: for students coming for the first (fall) semester / full academic year
  • 30 October: for students coming for the second (spring) semester


After confirmation, the system will send a copy of the application to the e-mail address the student has specified in the Application Form. The application must be printed, signed (by the student and the Home University Erasmus Coordinator), and stamped with the Home University official stamp.

The signed and stamped Application Form has to be sent by e-mail to the International Mobility Office (.pdf format) at the following e-mail address:


  • 20 June: for students coming for the first (fall) semester
  • 5 November: for students coming for the second (spring) semester




Students who have requested an accommodation in the University Residences will be informed whether they have successfully been assigned a room or not within few weeks from the submission of their Application Form.

Please note that

  • students coming for the first (fall) semester / full academic year will be contacted in July
  • students coming for the second (spring) semester will be contacted in December

They will receive a confirmation e-mail that also specifies which residence they have been allocated to.


Students who have requested a Buddy on their Application Form will be provided with the name & contacts of their student buddy.

Please note that

  • students coming for the first (fall) semester / full academic year will be contacted in August
  • students coming for the second (spring) semester will be contacted in January

Our aim is to match Erasmus students with Buddies who study and speak similar languages. However, there are more international students who require a buddy than the actual buddies available, so it is possible that we may not be able to find a match for each international student.
